Be A Fruit Inspector

The Bible says you will know a tree (person) by it’s (their) fruit. The best way to do this is to listen when others talk. You can learn so much by listening. Actions do speak louder than words but words will expose the heart. The bible says out of the abundance of a heart the mouth speaks. If I had known this principle long ago, it would have kept me from many bad relationships. My problem, I was like Eve in the garden. I saw the fruit, it looked good, so I ate it. I didn’t take time to inspect it to see if it was rotten. I didn’t take time to peel back the layers to see what was hidden inside, so I got what I got, which was a big heartache. The more you let someone talk, you will learn who they are, what their beliefs are, and what is important to them. Do not disregard the red flags. Listen and take note. Pray God gives you a discerning heart, so you can distinguish between good and evil, and right from wrong. Whether it be a friendship or a relationship this will keep you from serious mistakes. Always remember, Bad company corrupts good morals (1 Corinthians 15:33). Here is the message God gave me about this:

Blinded By The Light Many are blinded by appearance. Just because something looks good does not mean it is good. Some things are beautiful on the outside but rotten to the core on the inside. One taste and you will see. Many taste and the truth is revealed, but because of the lust of the flesh, they keep eating of the forbidden fruit. Your fleshly desires will lead you astray. Just because something is shiny doesn’t mean it is gold. You must discern the truth. You must listen when the Holy Spirit warns you. Do not let your conscience become seared. Do not harden your heart to the truth. Listen and obey and you will be saved from many heartaches, says the Lord. Beauty on the outside fades. The facade will be broken. It is what is on the inside that is the real deal. Always look to the inside and judge righteously. Man judges by the outward appearance but I judge on the heart. Follow my ways and you will not be deceived, says the Lord.
